In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene brought devastating impacts to Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina. The storm caused widespread power outages, leaving over a million residents without electricity, and resulted in significant flooding and wind damage. Tragically, the Upstate region, including Greenville and Spartanburg counties, experienced a combined total of 12 fatalities due to the storm.
